The Peebles Corporation is the nation’s leader in the acquisition and development of large-scale urban properties through public-private partnerships.

Our black real estate developers work alongside municipalities to champion economic growth and the revitalization of major cities. By approaching projects with a sensitivity to history and heritage, we bring communities together in meaningful ways.

Through public-private partnerships, we develop underutilized, publicly owned real property assets to boost profitability and transform communities.

In New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, in the largest single-building sale in New York City government history, we acquired 346 Broadway (currently known as 108 Leonard) in 2013. Redevelopment plans for the 500,000-square-foot landmark are underway involving residential condominiums, retail and dedicated community space.

Our business model is a proven one, designed to minimize risk and maximize value for both investors and the cities in which we develop.

Public-private partnerships allow us to mitigate risk by controlling the site while we secure development approvals. The arrangement allows us to work with and compensate local municipalities for the full value of their properties and grow the city’s tax base by transferring these properties from public to private ownership. Another strategic goal is jobs generation, not only in temporary construction but in permanent jobs creation through redevelopment.

Examples of projects where our black owned real estate company has partnered with public agencies and municipalities across the US and successfully developed underutilized publicly-owned real property assets include:
