This office building was The Peebles Corporation’s first commercial real estate development, as well as its first public/private venture.
The design of this 100,000-square-foot project involved the preservation of a small historic Art Deco structure and the introduction of new construction. Developed in an economically distressed section of the city, the finished building has been credited with contributing to the area’s economic revitalization.
The property was featured on the “Parade of Mayors” tour as an example of excellence in urban renewal. Today, it is leased primarily to the government of the District of Columbia.
