Chairman and CEO

Recognized as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the nation, R. Donahue Peebles is Founder, Chairman and CEO of The Peebles Corporation, one of the country’s few national privately held real estate investment and development companies with a multi-billion dollar portfolio of projects in New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Miami and Miami Beach.

In addition to his role as CEO of The Peebles Corporation, Mr. Peebles is a top-selling author (The Peebles Principles and The Peebles Path to Real Estate Wealth), a regular guest on CNN, CNBC and FOX, and a highly sought-after speaker who has addressed educational, business and professional audiences across the United States.

Mr. Peebles is an avid supporter of mentoring to expose youth to the value of entrepreneurship, as well as an active political supporter and fundraiser for local, state and federal campaigns of both major parties. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Congressional Black Caucus, serves on the Board of Governors of The Real Estate Board of New York, the National Finance Committee of President Barack Obama, the Board of Directors of YMCA of Greater New York, Miami-Dade County Mayor Gimenez’s Business Roundtable, and is former Chairman of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.


Chief Investment Officer
President, Peebles Capital Partners

Tawan Davis spearheads capital raising initiatives, directs developments, and implements strategy for The Peebles Corporation. Most recently, Mr. Davis led public private partnerships with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. During that time, he analyzed, structured and executed high-profile transactions that brought nearly $1 billion to New York City’s coffers, created more than 5,000 jobs, and initiated several billion dollars in economic activity.

Prior to NYCEDC, Mr. Davis was an investment manager with Prudential Real Estate Investors, where he managed more than $6 billion dollars of real estate private equity investments, joint ventures, developments, and operating assets throughout the United States and Europe. He has also worked as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, where he concentrated on mergers, acquisitions and financing of publicly traded companies. Mr. Davis was notably named one of “40 Under 40 Emerging Business Leaders” by Network Journal , and has been compared to former President Bill Clinton for leadership potential by Newsweek Magazine.

Mr. Davis earned a BA in Political Economy with honors from Georgetown University, an MS from England's Oxford University, and an MBA from Harvard University's Business School. In addition to his role with The Peebles Corporation, Davis is currently an Adjunct Professor at New York University's Shack Institute of Real Estate and serves as a member of the board of directors of Harlem Hospital and New Horizon’s Children’s Advocacy Corporation.


General Counsel

Lowell D. Plotkin, Esq., oversees all legal matters for The Peebles Corporation and its day-to-day development operations, as well as provides expert counsel to executive management for all real estate transactions.

Mr. Plotkin has more than 10 years of real estate law experience. Most recently, he served as Counsel with the broad-based real estate practice at Lowenstein Sander LLP, where he led and executed all aspects of complex transactions including the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of multifamily, office, retail, hospitality and industrial sites. Prior to his four years with Lowenstein, Mr. Plotkin was an associate with other leading national real estate practices of prominent law firms.

Among Mr. Plotkin’s signature transactions is the representation of Lend Lease Americas in connection with the privatization and financing of hotels located on United States military installations. The project included the acquisition, development and construction of a portfolio of more than 13,000 hotel rooms on 39 military installations in 26 states. The anticipated cost of development during the first eight years of the project alone exceeds $725 million.

Mr. Plotkin earned his JD at Harvard Law School and BA in Political Science and Religion from Emory University.


Principal and Creative Director

Katrina Peebles is a driving force in The Peebles Corporation’s ongoing business development, political fundraising, community relations, corporate brand building, as well as historic preservation and design. In her more than 20 years’ experience, Mrs. Peebles has spearheaded development of the company’s highly regarded, top-performing tax appeal division, as well as organized high profile events and fundraisers for political leaders including, but not limited to, President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton.

In addition to establishing and managing The Peebles Corporation’s brand via strategic media awareness and community involvement, Mrs. Peebles has led the creative direction and interior design for marquee luxury residential and commercial projects including The Residences at The Bath Club, Bath Club Estates, and Tribeca’s former New York Life Building, among others.

Mrs. Peebles earned a BS in Journalism from University of Colorado at Boulder. She is former Vice President of Villa Viscaya, former President of The Women's Cancer League, Co-Founding former President of The Recreation Wish List Committee of WDC, and has served as a member of Miami City Ballet, Cancer Link, United Way, Lighthouse for the Blind, and the Women Who Care Committee – NYC.


Managing Director of Development

Chris Leng Smith is responsible for the overall execution and day-to-day management of The Peebles Corporation’s developments in the Northeastern and mid-Atlantic United States. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Leng Smith was Senior Vice President with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) where he led the structuring and negotiation of public-private partnerships and transactions for more than 2.5 million square feet of developments including Flushing Commons, the Battery Maritime Building, and Coney Island, to name a few.

Before NYCEDC, Mr. Leng Smith managed the financial analysis, project planning, market positioning, design, and preliminary leasing of more than $5 billion of world-class domestic and international real estate projects as Senior Director of Tishman Speyer and Vice President of AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp. Mr. Leng Smith began his career as a resident engineer and engineering project manager on large-scale renovation and construction projects in New York, Trinidad, Malaysia, and London.

Chris earned a BA in Engineering from Cambridge University in England and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Columbia University’s Business School. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and participated on a panel advising the Mayor of Portland, Oregon.


Director of Acquisitions & Investments

Gregory P. Cola is responsible for sourcing, structuring, closing and monitoring The Peebles Corporation’s real estate development and investment portfolio. In his decade of experience in real estate acquisition, Mr. Cola has analyzed several billion dollars’ worth of institutional properties throughout the United States.

Prior to The Peebles Corporation, Mr. Cola worked as an advisor with Red Stone Partners, where he identified and analyzed prospective opportunistic joint venture multifamily debt and equity investments, as well as led asset management and institutional reporting for the company’s $200 million equity and mezzanine loan portfolio. Previously, Mr. Cola was engaged in all aspects of the acquisition process with TGM Associates L.P., where he led underwriting for the company’s $400 million value-added fund. He has also served as a Senior Real Estate Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and began his career with Deloitte & Touche in its Audit and Assurance practice.

Mr. Cola earned an MS in Real Estate Finance & Investment from New York University and a BA in Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University teaching graduate-level finance courses and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.


Director of Marketing and Communications

Adriana Aragon Echevarria develops, implements and oversees all marketing and communications activities for The Peebles Corporation and its development projects nationwide. She directs media relations, branding, advertising, digital marketing, website development, collateral creation, copywriting, corporate communication, as well as oversees sponsorships, philanthropic efforts, events and project sales.

Ms. Echevarria has considerable experience in all aspects of marketing and public relations across a variety of industries. She has planned and executed multi-faceted programs for high-profile real estate developers, residential and mixed-use projects, as well as luxury fashion, design, consumer, travel and hospitality brands nationwide. Previously, Mrs. Echevarria was Director of Marketing at The Residences at W South Beach, one of the world’s top-performing condo-hotels. She began her career as an Account Executive at Hill & Knowlton SAMCOR and later served as a Senior Account Executive with bi-coastal public relations firm TARA, Ink.

Mrs. Echevarria earned a BA in Communications from Northwestern University.



Nisad Hack, CPA, spearheads The Peebles Corporation’s financial accounting and reporting operations as well as leads the design and implementation of the company’s IT and human resource procedures. Mr. Hack was most recently an Accounting Manager with The Related Group, where he was directly responsible for accounting and reporting for nine luxury residential high-rise condo developments totaling more than 2,612 units, three million saleable square feet, and $1.47 billion in contracted revenue. Prior to Related, Nisad was an Audit Manager at global audit, tax, and advisory firm Grant Thornton, LLP, where he managed audits for leading private equity firms such as Sun Capital Partners and The ComVest Group in addition to other ongoing managerial, project and business development responsibilities. Mr. Hack began his career as an Audit Senior with Berkowitz Pollack & Brant, LLP, one of the largest firms in South Florida, where he led audits of large real estate development firms including Turnberry Associates.

Mr. Hack is a Florida CPA and a member in good standing of the AICPA. He holds an MBA in Finance from Florida International University and a BBA in Accounting from University of Miami.


Development Director – Southeast Region

R. Lee Hodges oversees and executes all project activities for The Peebles Corporation’s developments in the Southeastern United States. Mr. Hodges has approximately 20 years’ experience managing ground-up development from conception to completion, including the design, construction, sales team assembly and management of more than $2 billion worth of real estate.

Mr. Hodges has built an impressive career in the real estate industry having held several high-profile positions with nationally recognized development companies. Over the past decade, he has served as Vice President of Development for Housing Trust Group, Senior Vice-President of Development at Penn Florida Companies, Regional Vice-President of Real Estate Operations at The Lynd Company, and Director/Regional Vice-President of Real Estate at The Related Group. During this time, Mr. Hodges negotiated and managed more than $600 million of new construction, delivered 2,000 luxury condominium units, prepared strategic business plans for $3 billion of real estate, and presented more than $4.5 billion of investment and development proposals to public and private equity groups.

Mr. Hodges earned his BA of Science at Kennesaw State University and an MBA from Florida International University. He is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker and Florida Licensed Community Association Manager.


Associate Director of Corporate Relations

Rochelle Carroll is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with community leaders and organizations, government agencies, media, and the public at large for both The Peebles Corporation and its development projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.

Ms. Carroll has more than 20 years’ experience managing operations, financial performance and external relations for large-scale commercial real estate assets across multiple regions. As an Asset Manager, General Manager and Marketing Director, she has developed and managed multi-million dollar operating budgets, sales and leasing programs, as well as government, public and client relations for nearly one million square feet of retail space throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. She has also worked in the non-profit sector as a public relations, government and community relations liaison.

Ms. Carroll earned a BS from Howard University with concentrations in Business, Fashion Merchandising and Design.


Associate Director

Amelia Patt has robust investment and analytical experience along with an architecture and design background. Her primary responsibilities include sourcing, underwriting and closing new development deals for The Peebles Corporation. In addition to her role on new investments, Ms. Patt oversees the schematic design and entitlement process for Peebles’ 390,000 square foot ground-up development project in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

Prior to joining Peebles, Ms. Patt was a Senior Analyst in Acquisitions for Clarion Partners, LLC, during which time she analyzed and valued prospective multifamily, retail, office and industrial investments throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. During her tenure Ms. Patt was critically involved in the acquisition and financing of approximately $336 million of real estate assets. Ms. Patt began her career at Jones Lang LaSalle in the New York City-based Capital Markets Group, primarily working on debt and equity originations for institutional clients.

Ms. Patt studied Architecture at Columbia’s Graduate school of Architecture Planning and Preservation. She holds a Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a BA from University of Michigan.


Development Director – Northeast

Dan Robinson is responsible for executing The Peebles Corporation’s development projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Robinson directed development and operations for partnerships of Angelo, Gordon & Co. and Belvedere Capital. His responsibilities included leading broad project teams and working closely with all stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
In his more than 15 years in the industry, Mr. Robinson has stewarded more than $1.5 billion in real estate investment and development activity. His project experience includes the acclaimed Printing House condominium redevelopment in Manhattan’s West Village, as well as the redevelopment of a 450,000-square-foot residential portfolio in Queens, New York. Mr. Robinson also directed the turnaround of a distressed 2,600-key hotel portfolio.
Mr. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Real Estate Finance.


Senior Associate of Development

Donahue Peebles III is the Senior Associate of Development at The Peebles Corporation, handling acquisitions and development. He is a 2016 Columbia University graduate, who began working with The Peebles Corporation full-time in 2012, while earning his degree in Economics. Donahue is currently leading the company’s Washington, D.C. development efforts, including the day-to-day development of the SLS Hotel and Residences, in which he was an integral part of both the negotiating and pre-developmental teams. He is also overseeing the day-to-day pre-development activities of five projects in the D.C. area.

Donahue is an active part of The Peebles Corporations public image, as he often participates in local and national business and entrepreneurial summits, as well as serving on real estate panels and forums. He also serves both the Washington D.C. and New York City communities by engaging with multiple philanthropies that benefit and expose youth to various opportunities in entrepreneurship. Donahue is currently extremely engaged in working with the New York City Mission Society, Best Buddies, Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E., and various other organizations to improve the quality of life of impoverished and special-needs individuals on a global scale. In his spare time, along with traveling and reading contemporary American fiction, Donahue enjoys a lifelong passion for basketball and while attending Columbia college served as middle school varsity head coach for his high-school alma matter, Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School.


Senior Associate, Acquisitions and Investments

Marc Kramer is a Senior Associate on the Acquisitions and Investments team with roles primarily related to sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and closing real estate transactions. Mr. Kramer is also responsible for helping prepare responses to the various city RFP sites The Peebles Corporation submits on.

Prior to The Peebles Corporation, Mr. Kramer began his career in the Wheel Program at CBRE in Washington, D.C. Here he received exposure to Global Corporate Services, Loan Sales, Tenant/Landlord Representation, and Office Investment Sales in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. metropolitan area. He transitioned from this rotational program into a more permanent role on the CBRE Office Investment Sales Team. A couple of years later, Mr. Kramer made the jump to the principal side working for Akridge, a local D.C. developer, where he worked on their acquisitions team helping to analyze over a billion dollars’ worth of institutional properties.

Mr. Kramer earned an MS in Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University and a BS in Finance from the University of Maryland.


Accounting Manager

Ms. Rodriguez has held various managerial accounting positions for over 10 years and has solid experience with construction and real-estate accounting. She has educational knowledge and working experience of GAAP and has excelled in preparing job cost profitability analyses, controlling and reconciling high volumes of AP, AR, GL accounts and its sub-ledgers, performing monthly budget revisions, bank recons, auditing internal files, preparing and maintaining multiple spreadsheets utilized for managerial analyses and decision making. She also has extensive knowledge and experience with multiple accounting systems, month-end and year-end closings. Marisel obtained her B.S. Accounting from Kaplan University and is a Florida Notary Public. In the past, she has been responsible for assisting with internal reporting and compliance in the public sector including monthly and year-end audit reviews.

As Peebles’ Accounting Manager, Marisel is responsible for the supervision of accounting staff, review of recurring funding from construction loans, preparation of stand-alone financials using generally accepted accounting principles, preparation of ad-hoc management reports for development and pre-development projects, design and implement internal control policies and procedures, as well as support development efforts by working closely with our departments to achieve TPC objectives.
